At the age of 19,  joined The Rapture, an NYC dance punk juggernaut that would take him around the world. Touring with the likes of Daft Punk and the Cure, The Rapture became a part of New York City's burgeoning rock and indie scene, as highlighted in Lizzy Goodman's 2022 book, Meet Me in the Bathroom, and its subsequent documentary.


In this extensive episode, we talk to Mattie about his time in The Rapture, NYC in early & the mid aughts, to the present - as a touring member of and his new and excellent project, . We also discuss his D.C. upbringing that helped shape his ethos, which continue to influence his life and art to this day.
